Base layers and warmers are a versatile and handy addition to any cyclist's wardrobe. Coming in a variety of configurations, we’ll help you understand the different products on offer.
Base Layers for Sale
Base layers are a thin, form fitting garment worn underneath your jersey that are designed to keep you comfortable whilst riding and can be worn year round. Typically made of moisture wicking materials, the added layer traps a small amount of air close to the skin, keeping you warm enough without overheating your torso by wicking any sweat away. Look out for both summer and winter-specific garments, and if in doubt, pick a summer one – it won’t make you any cooler in winter, but it will help you to stay dry and comfortable.
Warmers for Sale
Arm, knee, and leg warmers protect your appendages from the toll that the wind chill, sun or vibrations can have on your exposed skin whilst riding.
Typically made of lycra, these pull-over sleeves are typically worn to complement your summer cycling clothing when the temperature drops slightly. For staying warm on chilly rides, look for warmers with insulated lining. Muscle compression and even sun-protection versions also exist for those looking for additional performance or safer summer riding.
They can be packed down to a small size and can be stored in a jersey pocket when not in use. While head and leg warmers do get used on extremely cold days, we typically reach for the arm and knee warmers first.
